| Process of building a website
Stage 1: discussion and research
The best place to start is to review this checklist and fill out a quote form .
Once I
have a better idea of the type of website you would like, I determine if I'm the right web designer
for you. I might ask you more questions for clarifcation. Afterwards, I review
functionalities of the website such as adding a shopping cart, email newsletter, etc. Then I create
a quote for your website and send it by email. When you are ready to start, you pay a deposit
(half of the estimate.) The other half is paid when the site is complete.
Stage 2: Design
After the deposit has been paid, I design two mockups of your website in Photoshop. You
choose one of them, I make the final touches, and with your approval, I build out the
framework of your website.
Stage 3: Development
This involves converting the mockup/images into web pages and php. You will be able to watch the
development of the website during this phase. I will also request all content, images, and anything else you'd like on the website to be submitted.
Stage 4: Final touches
The development is finished, the website will be made live. I will ask you for a list of meta tags
and submit your site to the basic search engines. We will upload your website to your server. If you have a website that has content management features, a phone
training as well as a documentation on how to update (text-only) your website will be provided.
